Zeca Polina
Biography
In order to write his genre-bending songs, Zeca Polina mixes all the experiences and feelings with every sound that makes him tap his feet. In his musical influences blender, you can often identify his Brazilian roots – in genres such as samba, frevo, marcha, forró and coco – alongside rock n roll, blues, country, folk, children’s songs and much more. Sometimes taking silliness very seriously, sometimes singing his deepest emotions, Zeca has been strumming his guitar and smiling while playing for over 20 years. Some highlights of his career include his performances at venues such as Roy Thompson Hall and Lula Lounge; and festivals such as Dundas West Fest in Toronto, and Lovebox in London, England. Zeca performs solo shows and with a variety of groups, including being the lead singer and songwriter in both the rock band Zeca & The Hydroponic Lizards and the Brazilian grooves ensemble Cachaça.
